Options for the Uninsured

Northern Regional Hospital gives all uninsured, self-pay patients a 32% discount off their total billed charges.  Any patient that receives Financial  Assistance (Charity Care) or turns in retro insurance will no longer be eligible for the self-pay discount.

Eligibility Screening

If you have no medical insurance, we offer additional options for you to consider. MedData is a company that partners  with Northern Regional Hospital to provide eligibility screening and enrollment services for government sponsored programs such as Medicaid. You may contact the MedData representative at (336) 719-7382. Their office is open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday - Friday and is located within our main hospital entrance to the left of our lobby.

Financial Assistance and Charity Care

Northern Regional Hospital is committed to providing outstanding healthcare to all members of our community regardless of their ability to pay. We understand that unexpected medical expenses can generate a concern for you and your family. That’s why we offer  free care to patients who qualify for our Financial Assistance Program.

Uninsured patients, as well as patients covered by Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid or Medicaid Advantage insurance plans may apply for Charity Care if they are unable to pay their balance, due to their current financial situation.  All applicants must complete a Financial Assistance application and provide proof of income. Proof of income can be a copy of a recent pay stub, W2 Form, tax return, Social Security or Disability verification, public assistance, alimony, child support or  education assistance. Applicants that have income at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Guideline will receive 100%  discount for their hospital services.
