Emergency Department

The Emergency Department at Northern Regional Hospital provides care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is committed to providing you with an excellent patient care experience. Our staff of caring physicians, physician assistants, nurses and technologists are highly trained to provide competent, compassionate care even during the most critical situations.

Air Transport Available with Triage Specialization

A triage nurse is on duty at all times to assess a patient's condition as they arrive and determine the level of urgency needed for treatment. All of our physicians are Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and specially trained for all types of emergencies including cardiac, pediatric, and trauma situations.

Northern Regional Hospital has a helipad for the convenience of flight transfers to enable patient transfers by air when necessary.

What to Bring to the ER

When coming to the Emergency Department, please bring with you any medications you are currently taking, in their original bottles, including prescription and over-the-counter meds, along with a list of any medication drug allergies you may have. It would also be helpful to include a list of any medical conditions you may have been treated for in the past.  It is often difficult to remember this information during stressful/fearful times. Also bring with you a copy of your insurance card. Even if you have been a patient in the hospital before, the admissions/registration staff will need a copy each time you register as a patient.
