Neurolysis of Facet Nerves

If you are an individual struggling with pain due to facet joint disease, arthritis or whiplash injuries, neurolysis may be considered for your treatment. Neurolysis involved using high frequency waves to produce heat that cause nerves identified as a source of pain to be inactive. The goal is to minimize pain produced by these nerves.
With the help of fluoroscopic guidance, the nerve area is targeted to identify the cause of pain. A needle is inserted close to the nerve to identify the pain area and treat it with waves to cause the nerve to be inactive.
Following the procedure, numbness and tingling may be felt depending on the site where the procedure was performed. These effects will wear off in a matter of hours.
