ASTYM Therapy - The ASTYM system is an evidence-based rehabilitation process designed to effectively treat chronic tendon disorders, scar tissue and fibrosis. The goal of the ASTYM treatment is to stimulate the body’s healing response, resulting in the resorption and remodeling of scar tissue and the regeneration of degenerative tendons. This effective therapy incorporates a customized program of stretching and exercise, which positively influences the alignment of the new collagen.

BPPV – Vertigo - Don’t let dizziness keep you down
Our BPPV-Vertigo program involves habituation exercises that allow proper fluid flow in the canals of the ears. It has a 96% success rate in relieving dizziness and nausea in 1-2 weeks.

Amputee Clinic - Let’s face your amputation together
Our amputee program is a multi-phase approach which addresses various needs of patients after an amputation. The first phase focuses on safety with mobility, strengthening and flexibility. The second phase focuses on walking, balance, coordination and agility training. The third phase addresses high level activity such as running, jumping and athletic performance as desired.

Lymphaedema - We can help
Our lymphaedema program consists of certified lymphaedema therapists that perform evidence-based treatment programs in complete decongestive therapy. Complete decongestive therapy includes manual lymphatic drainage with the application of a multi-layer bandage with extensive patient education.

Massage Therapy - Give Your Body A Break
Massage therapy helps you relax, re-align and rejuvenate. Research has demonstrated the many positive aspects to receiving massage therapy on an ongoing basis.  Most of us are very busy and our bodies are crying for help but we put our well-being on the back burner.  The experienced, professional therapists at Northern Rehabilitation provide exceptional care and will design an effective individualized massage treatment to address your specific needs.  Give us a call and feel better today!

Peripheral Neuropathy-Anodyne Therapy - Don’t settle for numb feet
This is specifically for diabetic patients to help painlessly regain sensation in the feet which can assist in regaining balance. We often use this treatment regimen in conjunction with other therapies, and we are one of the few clinics that offer this therapy. This is a self pay therapy only.

Ready—Set—Steady (FREE Balance Screens) - Don’t let a fall decrease your quality of life
Northern Rehab provides free balance screens to determine an individual’s risk of falling, as part of their new Ready--Set----Steady program.  The program was created to potentially prolong independence and improve the quality of lives of those who are at risk for a fall.  “The US Department of Health and Human Services reported that falls were one of the top three causes of accidental death among the elderly and that falls represent the second greatest source of economic loss due to injuries in the United States.  We are committed to helping people, improve their quality of life, stay independent longer and simply avoid a costly accident,” says Doug Yarboro, PT.

Anyone interested can stop by the clinic at any time, during the hours of 8am-5pm, with no appointment necessary.  The free screen takes less than 20 minutes and the results will be reviewed with the individual and their family physician to determine if the full program would be beneficial.  The complete Ready--Set----Steady program for balance and fall prevention has five components. 1) Screen individuals to determine fall risks 2) Uncover the cause of the altered balance 3) Promptly address the cause to increase balance and safety 4) Educate the individual on prevention strategies and environmental risk factors in the home 5) Teach the individual a home maintenance program to ensure continued safety.

Post-Offer (Pre-Hire) Functional Screening - Remarkable Return On Investment
Most strain and sprain injuries occur because workers are not physically capable of the work they were hired to perform. Hiring workers who can perform the physical demands of the job with certainty is the best injury prevention money can buy. In fact, a recently published study projected savings of $18 for every dollar spent on post-offer screens! It’s hard to beat that kind of return on investment.  Give us a call to see how we can help with your hiring decisions.

Speech Therapy – Difficulty with speech or swallowing affects people of many ages for a variety of reasons. Speech therapy provides services that help to improve a person’s speech, language, cognition, voice disorders and swallowing disorders. We help our patients with speech improvement and vocal production, swallowing difficulties and oral motor coordination, cognition, facial expressions and gestures, reading and writing skills, respiration and breathing exercises.
