Telehealth
What is interactive telehealth?
Interactive home telehealth provides the ability for a nurse to more clearly monitor you in your home. Telehealth features an easy to use system with live audio/ video and medical equipment such as:

Stethescope
Blood Pressure Cuff
Scale
Pulse Oximeter

When is Telehealth considered?
Teleheath is usually used for patients with chronic conditions such as:

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Diabetes Mellitus
Wounds
(These are just a few examples; use is not limited to these diagnosis).

Leading the way
Northern Home Care sees the value in updating technology to improve patient access to care and quality of care. We are proud to introduce a home telehealth program using America Telecare Inc's telehealth solution. This new capability allows us to provide:

Better access to care
Earlier intervention
Reduced hospitalization
and Emergency Room visits
Increased ability to remain independent

What does Telehealth offer me?
Feelings of security
Independence
Increased involvement in my care
Increased understanding of my physical conditions
Early detection and intervention to avoid Emergency Room visits

How does it work?
A video station is placed in your home, while the provider station is in our office. The nurse uses the provider station to call you and conduct a video visit in your home. You can see and hear each other while the nurse obtains your vital signs, weight, oxygen level and asks questions pertaining to your medical conditions. The system works over your phone lines.

How will I pay for Home Telehealth?
Any patient who is Medicare/ Medicaid eligible for homecare and meets selection criteria including your doctor's order for telehealth can receive this service at no cost.
